Tansu I

Just as the Owl Case is a test piece in through-dovetails, the Tansu I is an exploration of half-blind dovetails. Sized as a kitchen piece for holding silverware and other kitchen tools, the case is black walnut with red maple drawer sides and backs. Interior framing for the drawers is also red maple. Carved pulls are based on Northwest Coast Indian formline ovoids. L 24 x W 13 x H 12.
