Much of my work consists of original one-time designs in solid wood. I utilize natural and non-toxic finishes whenever possible. My philosophy of materials and methods is summarized in more detail in the Education section.

Preferring traditional European, Chinese and Japanese joinery, I strive to integrate old techniques with animated modern forms. The pieces below represent continual experimentation during both design and construction.

The terms casework and framework represent the division of my work into open and closed spaces. Caseworks contain space and hold objects; their main visual effect is one of positive volume. Frameworks are constructed of lines and planes that define both surfaces and empty space. While the two may mix, one is almost always dominant in the experience of the object.
